2016 P&D Ronald Reagan One Dollar Coin Cover 16FC Sealed Package

The Ronald Reagan 2016 $1 Coin Cover, the American Presidency $1 Coin Cover Series showcases the Presidential $1 Coins. The 2016 Ronald Reagan $1 Coin Cover is the final coin issued in the series, which began in 2007. This limited edition cover—only 25,000 will be produced—features two Ronald Reagan $1 Coins from the first day of production at the U. S. Mint facility–January 6, 2016 (Philadelphia) and December 15, 2015 (Denver). The coins are mounted on a display card inside an envelope with a U.S. Red, White, and Blue (Forever) stamp. The cover also features a portrait of President Ronald Reagan, and the postmark of August 18, 2016, Simi Valley, California, marks the day the Ronald Reagan $1 Coin Cover was issued by the U.S. Mint. These coin designs display large, dramatic artwork and edge–incused inscriptions of the year, “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and the mint mark. Each coin features a likeness of President Reagan on the obverse (heads) with the inscriptions “RONALD REAGAN,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” “40th PRESIDENT,” and “1981–1989.” Presidential $1 Coins have a common reverse (tails) design featuring a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “$1.”

In 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Presidential $1 Coin Act authorizing the U.S. Mint to strike $1 coins honoring America’s Presidents in the order in which they served. This coin, the final one in the Presidential $1 Coin Program, honors President Ronald Reagan.
